Vintage Photos of the Golden Globes

As the years passed, the glamour of the award ceremony grew. The 20th Golden Globes saw the stage look more like what we see today.

The Golden Globes 2022 will be held on Jan 9, 2022. There won’t even be a host because of boycotts from TV networks and stars.

Awards are attended by Hollywood’s brightest stars, including Jayne Mansfield (1958) and Mickey Hargitay (1958).

She retired from acting that same year when she married Prince Rainier III of Monaco and became the Princess consort of Monaco.

Although fashion has changed significantly over the years, these names will always be there.

Williams won his first of six Golden Globes in 1979 — he was nominated for 12 in total — and rocked a classic ’70s haircut.

Marilyn Monroe looked like a starlet from the 1960s at the 1962 awards.

In the same year, Monroe won her fourth and last Golden Globe for World Film Favorite (Female). Monroe had previously won the Best Young Box Office Personality award in 1951 and the World Film Favorite award (Female), respectively, in 1953.

DeMille is well-known for his work in directing and producing some the most popular films of all times, including “The Ten Commandments,” “Cleopatra,” “The Greatest Show on Earth.”

Elizabeth Taylor, Mike Todd her third husband, as well as her future husband Eddie Fisher, got to rub elbows at the 1958 awards.

The 1958 awards were presented in February. Todd was killed in a plane accident one month later.

While Todd was in mourning, Taylor began an affair with Fisher, one of Todd’s closest friends. This led to the separation of Hollywood’s golden coupleDebbie Reynolds and Fisher.

She was just 27 years old when she won her first Golden Globe nomination.

Now, Streisand is one of a few people to have received an EGOT — an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award — though not all of them were competitive awards.
