Marilyn Bergman, who was a pioneer in the fields of film, television, theater, and music, is today farewell. We acknowledge her gifts to those who will follow.
Bergman, who was 93 years old, passed away at her home Saturday morning. Online mourners focused on the timeless nature her songs with Alan, her generosity and long-term service to composers through executive work.
These are just a few reactions to the above:
Marilyn and Alan Bergman with Michele Legrand wrote my favorite song, “How Do You Keep The Music Playing? Marilyn died today, but her music will continue to play.https://t.co/iM1fITp9zz

Marilyn and Alan Bergman were close friends, as well brilliant lyricists.
We met over 60 years ago backstage at a little night club, and never stopped loving each other and working together.
Their songs are timeless, as is our love.
Let her rest in peace.
With love

Marilyn Bergman was the only Marilyn. Alan, her husband and music partner, knew this better than anyone. To those of us who loved the Bergman’s lyrics, Marilyn takes a bit of our hearts and souls with her today.

Marilyn Bergman, my dear, sweet, beautiful Marilyn, I am so sorry to have lost you so close to Sidney. You, along with your beloved Alan, were the epitome of Nadia Boulanger’s belief that “an artist can never be more or less than they are as a human being”(1/3) pic.twitter.com/2y7v76W4jJ

I met Marilyn thru politics, early 90’s. Warm, gracious & fierce. What I will never forget is how much Alan loved me. “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?”Her music continues to live on. https://t.co/qvLMHWidpZ
