IT CAN be easy to find your spending getting out of on control when it comes to the festive season.
But one mum has shared how she budgets for Christmas by putting cash aside for it each week of the year as part of a clever “stuffing” hack.
In a video shared to TikTok, the thrifty woman – called Sacha Renee – explained how she divides up the money that is left from her partner’s income after the bills have been paid online.
The clip sees her “stuff” notes into pouches representing a variety of spending categories.
These can be used for everything, from toiletries to eating out, as well as Christmas and birthdays.
It is hoped that by increasing the number of pouches each year, the family can build up funds to use when it is needed.
Christmas will get its usual $50 – and while I know that may not be important to some people, it is important to us

For example, while Sacha adds $10 – approximately £7.20 – a week to their ‘toiletries’ pouch, it may be that she doesn’t need to use the accumulating money for a while.
This trick helps her save for important annual events like the holiday season.
She said: “Christmas will get its usual $50 – and while I know that may not be important to some people, it is important to us.”
The savvy mum demonstrated the easy hack using a ‘budgeting binder’ – with each pouch labelled with its respective category – but can also perform the method using ordinary envelopes.
