Mastodon is growing in popularity on Twitter, but many users don’t know how it works.

People have been searching for alternative solutions to the backlash against Elon Musk’s purchase Twitter.

Twitter’s popularity has led to people looking for something similar. Mastodon is the website that is gaining the most attention. It’s simple to see why.

Mastodon’s interface, aside from some differences, is nearly identical to Twitter’s. However, it has everything you need including bookmarks (or retwoots), retweets and likes. You can also edit it! You can also verify your identity for free.

Mastodon isn’t controlled by one entity. Instead, it is managed by multiple servers. Each server revolves around a specific topic. You must join Mastodon to sign up.

Although it’s a smaller website and network, it doesn’t cover the same range of topics as Twitter. However, you can create your own server if desired. You can interact with all the other users on this site and not just one server.

However, Mastodon’s signup process is much more complicated than Twitter. This leads to some funny memes being shared on Twitter.

There are also quite some Power Rangers jokes.

Mastodon launched in 2016, according to CNNMore than 655,000 users visit the site each month. Additionally, 230,000 users added to the site on the date Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter was completed (October 27th).

It remains to be seen if Mastodon will replace Twitter, but it certainly has its advantages over bluebird. So let’s get started if you are able to figure out how to join.
