Thursday’s hosts Mayim, 46 and Ken, 48 sat down together for an informal dinner. InterviewOfficial Jeopardy! You can also subscribe to our YouTube channel.

This is in response to the announcement that they will continue sharing hosting duties for the new season, which begins September 12.

The pair were asked how they deal with criticism from Jeopardy!’s vocal die-hard viewers.

Mayim: “We’re still people, so I can’t say that, when you hear things that are constructive criticism, you don’t start thinking a little too much about it.”

She continued: ‘I take everybody’s opinion with a grain of salt and also believe everybody has a right to their opinion.”

Ken, who was a Jeopardy! champion before he took over the hosting job in 2021, added: “I just kind of had to dissociate.

“Jeopardy! has got such a big, diverse audience, you’re not gonna be able to please everybody every night.

“But I think that’s the virtue of having a couple of hosts.”

He concluded: “It’s a matter of taste and hosting style.”

The co-hosts had a game of flattery when Mayim called in: “I like you much better than I like myself.”

“Oh likewise,” replied Ken.

TIME FOR TWO

When season 38 of Jeopardy was over, Ken and Mayim were named as permanent dual-hosts! The season was over in July.

They will be the first permanent hosts since Alex Trebek, the veteran presenter, died in 2020.

Feverish fans were divided between Ken and Mayim during the period leading to the final decision.

DOUBLE TABLE

Overwhelmingly, viewers expressed a preference for the latter inOnline pollsand social media discussions.

Season 39 will begin later in the month. Ken will host the episodes until January before Mayim takes over until the end.

She’ll divide her time between filming the game show and her own Fox comedy, Call Me Kat.

In an online statement, Jeopardy! Executive Producer Michael Davies praised the duo, writing ”Mayim and Ken are both extraordinarily talented and simply lovely humans.

“They support the staff and each other. They love and respect this institution of a television program. In return, the staff and I are honored to work alongside them.”
