Ford Recalls Nearly 200K SUVs in the wake of Fan Motor Fires

Ford Motor Company has recalled nearly 200,000 SUVs in response to fan motor fire reports, according the Ford Motor Company. CBS News.

CBS News reported the following models: Ford Expeditions, Lincoln Navigators.

In total, 198,000 SUVs from inside the United States are being recalled to replace the blower motor assembly after 25 reports of fires, the company announced, NPR reported.

Detroit, Michigan-based company said that it received three reports of fires related to property damage and one involving minor injuries. NPR reported.

Ford will notify owners that they are replacing the front blower motors free of charge, starting September 12. NBC News reported.

CBS News reported Ford that some customers reported smoke, burning or inoperative fans while the vehicle was on.
