Hugh Jackman was a speaker in 2011 Herald SunThe struggles that he and Deborra Lee Furness faced when trying to get pregnant. “It was painful,”He reflected on the experience, saying that they had tried IVF and were devastated to learn it didn’t work. “I think any parent can relate — trying to have children is wonderful and when you feel as though that’s not going to happen, there’s a certain anxiety that goes with it,”He explained.

Jackman commented on those pregnancies that were lost, noting that he’d “Never forget”It was a very difficult experience. He added that he would like to see more people talk about the trauma of miscarriage given its prevalence. “It’s a good thing to talk about it. It’s more common, and it is tough. There’s a grieving that you have to go through,”He shared.

After their IVF experience that was stressful and the multiple miscarriages, the couple decided to take a different path. Jackman says that there was no Plan B for the new route.
