Her devastated family have released an emotional status, saying, “Our hearts are broken.”

Who are Gabby Petito’s parents?
Nicole Schmidt and Joe Petito, the parents of the YouTube star who is now missing, are Nicole Schmidt.
On September 11, 2021, Gabby’s mom reported her missing after she had not received word from her daughter in 13 days.
The YouTuber’s last text read: “No service in Yosemite.” but her mom has said she cannot be certain the message was sent by her daughter.
She said: “I did receive a text from her on the 27th and the 30th, but I don’t know if it was technically her or not, because it was just a text. I didn’t verbally speak to her.”
Meanwhile, her dad shared a photo of Gabby on Instagram after the FBI announced a body found is believed to be her.
The touching tribute shows the 22-year-old in front of a mural of colorful angel wings with the caption “she touched the world.”
When was the last time Gabby Petito’s parents saw their daughter?
Gabby’s last visit to her parents is unknown at this time.
It would have been prior to July 2, 2021, when she left New York City with Brian Laundrie, her fiancé, on a cross-country trip.

What have they said about her disappearance?
According to the Daily Mail, Gabby’s father Joe lives in Vero beach, Florida. He moved there to be near his daughter.
“[It’s like] drowning with your hands tied behind you,” Petito’s dad spoke out about Gabby disappearance.
“You can’t describe it. There’s nothing you can do. You can’t control anything.”
After FBI officials declared that a body was found in Grand Teton National Park, the 22-year old’s family issued a statement through their lawyer.
“We are asking the press and news media to have some decorum and sensitivity for Gabby’s family and allow them to grieve,” According to Richard Benson Stafford’s statement.
“I will be in contact with you when Gabby’s family is ready to make a public statement.”
Gabby Petito’s parents may have other children.
Petito has an older brother named TJ Schmidt.
He shared a heartbreaking Instagram post with his sister’s photo and said: “I don’t even know what to say. I’m at a total loss. My heart is shattered.”
