Where to watch Fisherman’s Friends: One and All

Sometimes, all you need is to be able to relax and watch a film that makes your heart sing. A comedy that is full of heart and friendly faces.

For some, one of the cherishable cinematic highlights of 2019 was the British comedy-drama Fisherman’s Friends.

Chris Foggin directed it. Based on a true story, it featured Cornish fishermen from Port Isaac who were recorded by Universal Records.

This cast featured talent from Maggie Steed to Daniel Mays. The show was so popular that there is now a sequel.

‘They then went on this huge journey’

Nick Moorcroft, co-writer and director, recently spoke to Cineworld and opened up about the Fisherman’s Friends story in real life informing the sequel:

“When we first came across the story that informed the first film, it revealed itself as a really compelling fish out of water story – pardon the pun! However, it was also a fantastic tale of the little person against the big person in which 10 ordinary fishermen get signed by Universal Records and make a million-pound record deal. There was evidently a film in there.”

He continued: “They then went on this huge journey. When we wrote the first film, we made a conscious decision to finish at the moment where they get a top 10 hit… Despite the desire to include the next bit of the story, there was too much to include in the first film.

“This time,”Noticing the huge difference “10 ordinary fishermen have become famous and end up playing the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.”

Fisherman’s Friends: One and All is now in cinemas.
