What law and order: What SVU's shocking twist for Benson could mean for the rest of Season 23

Spoilers ahead: Midseason premiere of Law & Order: SVUSeason 23 is called “Silent Night, Hateful Night.”

Law & Order: SVUThe new year began with a holiday episode that was not bright and cheerful. The midseason premiere concluded in a surprising twist. Olivia Benson. Despite the fact that she and the rest were cops, The hate crimes case is being workedBenson took drastic measures to stop the worst from occurring. It could have an impact on Season 23 in 2022. She made public her decision to kill a man to stop things from getting so much worse.

Evidently, the fans could have expected a lot more from this episode. Anxiety between Rollins MurphyAfter his return to New York, all hands were on deck! All hands were on the deck “Silent Night, Hateful Night,”Special Victims joined hands with Hate Crimes division to fight the bombings. They worked round the clock beginning on Christmas Eve. It was very close. One of the violently-racist bad guys was about to set off a bomb that he had in a backpack. Benson shot and killed him.

Considering there were people all around and a Christmas tree in the background, it wasn’t exactly shielded from the public eye, and the man’s accomplice had a surprising reaction to watching him be shot and killed, as she said:

We are grateful. We just received the martyrdom we needed from you.

It was a successful shoot and Benson should not be held responsible for the death of the man. She saved many lives, including hers and those of several NYPD officers. That doesn’t mean she won’t feel any emotional turmoil about the shooting, however. Making captain has meant that she’s not in the thick of the action quite as constantly as she was in her earlier years as a Special Victims detective.

First, Benson may have accidentally become a martyr for the racist group that did so much damage during the holidays. SVU. While she was forced to take the matter into her own hands, it is possible for the story to spread and attract the attention of some very evil people. Given the high profile nature of the case and the large number of people in the area, it is likely that word will spread that she shot the man. And that couldn’t possibly be good news for her.

There’s also the fact that shooting a man in the head could take an emotional toll on Benson. That’s not to say that it would affect her job performance, but she has already been through a lot in a season when the idea of retirement was suggested to her. Plus, she used plastic bullets for a time when she was a detective, so using lethal force clearly isn’t her preferred way of catching the bad guys. Special Victims needs her to be strong. Could her determination be affected by the fact that she had to kill the man to make it work?

It is something that I wonder if they will discuss between us. StablerMore Law & Order: Organized Crime?, SVU OC aren’t done crossing over for the 2021-2022 TV season. They only resolved.
