The pair knew the caravan would need a massive renovation to make it liveable for the foreseeable future, so forked out £400 to completely transform it.

They share the process of renovation on their YouTube channel. Camp Out WestThey also showed you how they restored the caravan.

“It’s always been our goal to live within our means and be mortgage free, so we’ve just sold our house on Instagram and used all of our life savings to buy a three acre abandoned caravan park, so we can self build a tiny home,”They shared.

John explained, “We didn’t have a lot of money so we were limited on the type of caravan we could buy.

“We chose this one as it had the dining area as well as a bathroom at the back.”

They immediately got to work, and soon discovered that the floor was coated in mold after removing the old flooring.

Additionally, the bathroom’s back wall was rotten. This meant that the couple had to do a lot more than they had originally planned.

After resolving the mould problem and floor issues, Emilie began to paint the interior of the caravan.

She said: “This took the most amount of time as we needed to do two coats of primer first to make sure all of the dark wood was covered and that the paint had something to stick to.”

The interior and cabinets were made from old wooden materials. This brightened up the caravan’s appearance, making it appear larger.

Emilie said, “Then we restored all the seats in caravan so that everything was new and neutral.”

“We replaced all handles with modern black handles, as well as spray painting tap handles, oven handles, and top of fridge.
