For those who want to cut out the middle man of meeting someone and letting a relationship simmer before committing to a partner for life, Married at First Sight is the answer.
A remake of a Danish reality series, the show follows couples that have been married after being paired by “experts” who have evaluated the likelihood of their compatibility. From there, the show keeps tabs on the events of their newlywed life. Viewers follow these couples on their journey as they make it past the honeymoon period and into real life.

Like other seasons of Married at First Sight, Season 17 will likely dive into miscommunication, mistrust, culture clashes, and other issues that may arise. Like in past seasons, not all couples may make it.
In fact, the promo for Season 17 teases that while five brides head to the altar, only four brides walk away married. It sounds like this season — which takes place in Denver — is going to deliver on the drama.

– Lauren and Orion
While Pastor Cal and Dr. Pepper are back for their usual roles as experts, Dr. Pia Holec has been upgraded to full-time expert now too, per Screen Rant. As viewers know, Dr. Pia has appeared in recent seasons already, but not among the panel of experts who do the matchmaking.
The Married at First Sight “Matchmaking Special” aired on Oct. 4. The “Kickoff” special airs on Oct. 11, and the season officially premieres on Oct. 18. As usual, viewers can also watch the “Afterparty” hosted by Keshia Knight Pulliam after each ep, which will showcase the results of a new feature this season called “Polling Party.”
