A THRIFTER found a rare pair of Kobe shoes that happened to be his favorite type for just a fraction of what they were worth. The major Goodwill score was a pair of Kobe Mentality 2’s in the popular Grinch color, a very bright greenish-yellow shade priced at just $19.
Thrifter Strikes Gold at Goodwill with Kobe Grinches
The thrifter, Dealing With Dalton (@dealingwithdalton) shared his find in a video on TikTok. “Kobe Grinch at a Thrift Store,” Dalton said in the caption of the video. Dalton explained how he has been on the hunt for all types of Kobe shoes and has had tons of luck. But the Kobe Mentality 2’s is his favorite that he has found so far.
Kobe Mentality 2’s: A Thrift Store Gem
“I found Kobe Grinches at Goodwill for only $19,” Dalton said in the video. “I’ve been on an absolute tear finding Kobe’s at thrift stores lately. Everything from Kobe 10 Elites all the way down to the Kobe Mentalities but this pair has got to be my favorite.”
A Rare Find Worth More Than Its Price Tag
Dalton clarified he knows the Kobe Grinches he found are not the style worth the most money. However, they are still worth a lot because of the bright green color. “Before you head to the comment section and let me know that these aren’t in fact the Kobe 6 Protro Grinches,” Dalton said.
Profit Potential and Size Woes
The happy thrifter said it is a major plus he only paid $19 for the shoes because now he can make a profit on them. Although he does wish that he could have kept them for himself, they are too big for his size. Dalton continued in the video and said, “I cannot believe that I found these at Goodwill for only $19.”
Dalton hopes to make a whopping $300 from this $19 thrift find. “With the Kobe Mentality 2’s, I still think I get at least $200 maybe $300 for these,” Dalton said.
