The Grand County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the unfortunate incident in a statement to E! News. The young man, identified as Dallas LeBeau, was only 21 years old.

Authorities revealed that they received a distressing 911 call around 3 p.m. on April 9, reporting a skiing accident near Berthoud Pass summit. Upon arrival, rescuers found LeBeau unconscious and without a pulse. Despite bystander CPR efforts, the young skier could not be revived and succumbed to his injuries on the scene. The exact cause of death is yet to be determined.
The Risky Stunt Gone Wrong
LeBeau, who was also a ski instructor according to his Instagram profile, attempted a high-risk jump that involved clearing the width of U.S. Highway 40. Authorities described the stunt as extremely dangerous, highlighting the lack of speed and distance needed for a successful landing. Unfortunately, the skier fell short and landed on the pavement of the highway. Despite wearing a helmet and other protective gear, the impact proved fatal.
