Timotheé Chalamet and Florence Pugh are two of the biggest young actors in Hollywood. Oscar nominees have attracted much attention because of their incredible performances and eye-catching projects. The two have co-starred together in Greta Gerwig’s Little Women, and now are collaborating again in the much anticipated sequel to 2021’s Dune. They are clearly great at making tea and tend to make movies where their characters are tied together.
While promoting his film, All BonesChalamet sat down VarietyReflect on his career so far, including the time he spent working with Pugh again. Dune 2.The Call Me by Your Name actor couldn’t help but point out the similarities between the films the two have made together and joked about the coincidence. He stated:
We joked on set about how we keep making these films, and how we end up together even if we should be with different people.
This is a slight teaser for Florence Pugh’s role in the Dune sequel. She will play Princess Irulan Corrino (the daughter of Emperor Shaddam IV) in the sequel. She has a complex relationship with Chalamet’s character, Paul Atreides. Chalamet praised his co-star and said that she was bringing something to their film.
Florence is something special. She’s an incredible actor. She was extraordinary in ‘Dune’ — seriously incredible. She brought gravitas to the role.
It is so wonderful to see these young actors supporting one another. They clearly have a great working relationship, and I’m sure many fans are thrilled to see these two on screen together again very soon. The other two are Pugh and Chalamet. Dune 2The cast is growing and stars are star-studded so there are many reasons to be excited about the sci-fi movie. Zendaya will reprise her role as Chani and Denis Villeneuve will direct the film.
Pugh and Chalamet share many similarities, not just in the films they have shared. In many ways their careers seem almost to have parallels. Both stars made waves at Venice Film Festival promoting their films, and both chose projects with auteur directors. For example, Pugh has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s 2023 epic OppenheimerChalamet was a director who worked with Interstellar. I’m sure these actors are going to continue to circle each other’s careers in the years to come, and fans can only hope for even more collaborations in the future.
