1. Make sure you have outfits that are versatile.

Sometimes it can be tempting think we need a new outfit for every day. However, that’s definitely not the case – your beach cover-up kaftans can be worn on multiple days, and the same goes for shorts and skirts.

A common tip for packing is to make sure you have enough space in your suitcase to store all your clothes.

That way, you can ensure you have enough clothes, and you’ll also know that your separates go together.

2. Multifunctional bags are a must-have

Consider a multi-tasking bag instead of carrying a tote bag, evening handbag, beach bag and backpack.

There are many options available, such as a foldaway bag that doubles as a beach bag or a day bag. You can also pack a small crossbody bag for beach trips, days out and evening events.

Some can be removed from the bag to become a shoulder bag or handbag.

3. Reduce the size of your shoes

Although having shoe options is important, they can take up a lot of space in our luggage.

You can pack your suitcase efficiently and use the inside of your shoes for items storage. There are also ways you can reduce the number of pairs you bring and make them take up less space.

Choose a chunky platform for a shoe that can be worn from the poolside to the bars and restaurants.

This meets the best of both worlds – they’re elevated for an evening look, but not heeled, so they won’t hurt your feet as you wander around the beach or pool all day.

If your holiday involves a lot of walking, it’s sensible to take a pair of trainers. A pair that’s stylish but robust will give you extra options for your outfits and makes for a comfortable airport footwear option.

4. Take an eBook reader

One of the best things about planning for a holiday is picking out your summer reads, but it’s easy to rinse through books quickly on holiday, and they can be heavy and take up a lot of space.

A tablet or eBook reader is a great way to reduce luggage.

These devices can hold as many books as you wish without adding extra weight to your luggage.
