Before the film was even made, there were tensions among the cast when money became a problem. It led to a rift between Johnny Knoxville (Steve-O) and Knoxville (Johnny Knoxville). The podcaster explained the reasons for their feud after they reunited for the final episode.
Between the JackassSteve-O, a vet, was hoping to raise his salary for the final installment. According to the stunt actor, he heard about the movie from the news just like everyone else. After learning about the fourth movie, the JackassVet immediately started thinking about his contract.
I was stunned. I was shocked to learn that Knoxville was trying for a fourth. “Jackass”After a decade of inactivity, the movie was finally made. “Jackass” brand. Contracts have always been fun, but this time it was even more fun.
After many years of building his brand and career, he finally got the job. Jackass ForeverStar believed it was time to receive his due. He wanted more shares in the franchise that he helped create. I could have gone about it a lot more smoothly, and I didn’t. I blurted shit out during interviews that was counterproductive, so that’s what really pissed off Knoxville. There was a little disagreement between us, you know. Finally, my lawyer called me and said: ‘Hey, take it, dude. This is going to get ugly.’It could have gone up by just a fraction. It didn’t go up enough to me to consider it a win.
After attacking his Jackass co-star, the whole ordeal didn’t sit well with Steve-O. He acknowledged that he was out of control with his comments about the contract negotiations. The JackassVet thought about what he had learned from the dispute with Knoxville.
And in hindsight, I don’t even feel bad about it, because I handled it poorly and I’ll own that. It is mine and Knoxville. It’s mine. What can I say? I was an asshole. Knoxville was my first call since then. I replied, ‘Hey, I want to acknowledge the way I handled the whole contract situation — it was fucking bullshit, man.’
He was held accountable for his actions at the end. The Jackass ForeverStar revealed the conversation between the long-time friends. “healing conversation.”Steve-O felt that the contract negotiations were inevitable after the rift was closed. He wanted his contribution to the team to be recognized. He claimed the leveled playing field helped to enhance the crew’s signature chemistry.
Thankfully, Steve-O and Johnny Knoxville were able to work out their issues, even though the same can’t be said about fellow JackassBam Margera is a vet.
