Slumberland is the latest example. It is based upon the beloved comic strip Little Nemo from Slumberland by Winsor Mccay.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, the movie hit Netflix on Friday, November 18th 2022, and tells the tale of a young girl navigating the titular dreamworld, seeking the help of an outlaw in the hopes that she’ll see her late father again.

Inside The Magic reports that he had the toy in hand because he encountered a real-life pig on the Slumberland set and decided to adopt it, although he wasn’t allowed the bring the new pet to the premiere.

In the film, the central character’s toy pig becomes real in the land of dreams.

Jason had been to a premiere movie with a toy in the past. Jason showed up at Conan The Barbarian’s premiere 2011 with a cuddly teddy.

‘I went back and I got that big Taschen book’

The director recently spoke out about the source material. Coming SoonHe shared his personal history with the project before taking over as Project Manager.

“I was actually not aware of the source material until I was handed an early draft of the script for this. Then I went back and I got that big Taschen book… So obviously looked through all of that and saw the Chris Columbus animated film.”

He also added: “I saw some of the stuff, but the idea was always to sort of take the original idea from the source material and then kind of like jump off with it and then create our own stories and our own look and bring it into a more contemporary world.”

Slumberland can be viewed exclusively on Netflix.
