Shawn Mendes took a three-week hiatus from performing shows, but it ended up being the end for the Wonder Tour.

Shawn announced on social media that he would postpone the next three tour dates for mental health reasons.

“This breaks my heart to have to say this, but unfortunately I’m going to have to postpone the next three weeks of shows through Uncasville, CT until further notice,” Mendes wroteFollow us on Instagram and Twitter.

“I’ve been traveling since I was fifteen years old and, to be honest, it’s been difficult to travel far from my friends and family.

“After a few years off the road, I felt like I was ready to dive back in, but that decision was premature and unfortunately the toll of the road and the pressure has caught up to me and I’ve hit a breaking point.”

“After speaking with my team and health professionals, I need to take some time to heal and take care of myself and my mental health, first and foremost. As soon as there are more updates I promise I will let you know.”

The tour started in Portland, Oregon on June 27, 2022.

Although the tour was scheduled to end in October 2022, Mendes posted a final Instagram post on July 27.

Mendes had originally delayed the three-week tour for only one week. Shows included in:

It says: “As you guys know, I had to postpone the past few weeks of shows since I wasn’t totally prepared for the toll that being back on the road would take on me.”

He expressed his joy at the tour’s return to live performance after being cancelled by Covid-19, and he continued.

He stated: “I need to take the time I’ve never taken to ground myself and come back stronger.”

“I, unfortunately, have to cancel the rest of the tour date in North America and the UK/Europe.”

Mendes ended the post by promising he would continue to work on new music and that when he heals, he would be back.

He thanked his fans for supporting him on his journey.
