SENNHEISER is a well-known brand for headphones. After trying the new Momentum True Wireless 3 Earbuds, it’s clear why.
German company has updated its wireless audio products, putting more emphasis on evolution than revolution.

The Momentum True Wireless 2 buds are no longer available for me to compare, however the spec sheet does show some improvements in tech.
My main comparison will be with my Beats Powerbeats Pro headphones, which I have been using faithfully for three years. They are something I absolutely love and I never leave home without.
It might be time for you to take a pair Momentum True Wireless 3s on a spin.
Here’s why.
Dinky design
Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless 3 earbuds seem a little smaller than the predecessor.
I have a concern that any small wireless earbuds will fall out easily.
However, they feel very secure when exercising in the gym.
It is thanks to a silicon-based ear wing, which grips tightly inside the ear.
After about 30 minutes, I felt a bit achey in my ears. However, changing the size of the bud helped.
It comes in a beautiful fabric case that looks exactly like the original.
It is the perfect size to fit in my pocket, unlike my Powerbeats Pros that are too large.
Sennheiser added wireless charging to their case as one of its upgrades.
This is a nice extra, not a must-have.
It’s time to sound out
The sound quality of these tiny earbuds was amazing to me.
They pack a lot of punch and can be customized to your liking.
The app allows you to crank up the base and other options so that your tunes explode with power without affecting any vocals.
The base boost option made certain dance moves feel even more wild.
Even though I have to be cautious with the volume, it is good to know that you can crank the sound up.
The perfect size bud tips and the tight fitting ear wing make noise cancellation very strong.
To test the waters in this department, I use the squealing of London Underground. I am happy to report that it blocks everything, keeping me locked in my music world.
Performance is a must
While it’s fantastic that you can personalize the touch controls via your app, I’m not happy with the default setting.
The controls are spot-on. It detects your taps with your finger to adjust volume, skip tracks, or pause.
You can get seven hours of use from one charge of the earbuds’ battery.
This case supports USB-C, and can power up your devices again very quickly.
Actually, the battery ran out at one point and I had to put the earbuds back into the case for just five minutes. However, I was able 25 minutes of uninterrupted listening on the Tube.
It was perfect. I had no issues with Bluetooth while listening to music.
However, there were occasional issues with the music blasting from my phone after connecting my earbuds. This never happened with my Powerbeats Pros.
You get what your pay for
At £219.99 a pop, the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 aren’t exactly cheap.
You get an amazing audio experience and you get it for a reasonable price.
Central Recorder says: I have been impressed by the quality and power these tiny beasts offer and am ready to part ways with my old favourite audio device.
For those who are not happy with the price, you might consider the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 instead.
John Lewis still has some available at a reduced price.
