Most millennials will remember the iconic meme of a guy trying to feed Ryan Gosling cereal – and ultimately failing. The incredibly clever short clips, which overtook video app Vine at the time (think TikTok’s predecessor), have definitely ensured their own place in internet history.
Vine’s six-second videos were a hit. They featured Ryan Gosling clips from different scenes.
It helped the piece to come together by using segments in which the actor looked disillusioned, unimpressed, or even looking away from the screen.
It quickly became an integral part of the entire country. ‘series’There were multiple clips of Ryan Gosling refusing his cereal in the meme.
Ryan was devastated to hear that the man who invented the cereal meme had died. Ryan knew there was one thing Ryan could do.
Who invented the Ryan Gosling cereal meme
Ryan McHenry was the meme creator who unfortunately died in 2015.
The 27-year-old became a viral sensation when he tried to tell the world how the Notebook actor wouldn’t eat his breakfast.
McHenry was diagnosed with bone carcinoma for the first time in 2013. Unfortunately, it happened shortly after McHenry created the viral meme. Daily Record.
The app created a tribute to his creator following his passing.
However, before his death, Ryan Gosling threw a spanner in the works by saying he actually loved cereal – almost ruining the meme altogether. McHenry wanted only one result.
“The only conclusion I can see out of this whole thing is to have Ryan Gosling respond to this,”Hetold The Verge. “Even if it’s just him eating cereal.”
The pair also had an exchange before he passed away, with the Driver star telling McHenry on Twitter he’d “never forgive him” over the meme – all jokes, of course.
Ryan’s 6-second tribute is more than enough
Following the sad news of McHenry’s death, Ryan sat down with bowl and spoon. Ryan paid tribute to McHenry with his own Vine.
It was just six seconds in length, but it was plenty.
“My heart goes out to all of Ryan McHenry’s family and friends,”HeIn a follow-up Tweet, I wrote. “Feel very lucky to have been a part of his life in some small way.”
It wasn’t the first time the star, who is currently dating and shares two children with fellow actor Eva Mendes, responded to memes about himself.
