Rosita’s fate in The Walking Dead’s finale is unknown.

Some shows are only for a few seasons, while others take viewers on a journey. Others? They will take you on a real journey. The Walking Dead is a story that lasts over a decade. Unfortunately, all stories come to an abrupt end.

Frank Darabont created the American post-apocalyptic Horror Series. Based on the comic book series, it premiered on AMC on October 10, 2010. It helped spur a boom in the subgenre that would last a number years.

While titles inspired by the show’s success were quickly buried, this one lived on and recently concluded with season 11 episode 24 on Sunday, November 20th 2022, marking the end of an era.

Audiences have been encouraged to reflect on the fates of characters at the end of the series. Rosita, the Walking Dead series finale’s protagonist, was what?

WARNING: SPOILERS IN SERIES FINALE

Rosita’s fate in The Walking Dead’s finale is unknown.

Christian Serratos’ Rosita Espinosa tragically passes away in the series finale after doing everything she can to save her daughter Coco.

In the final installments, she rose above and beyond her child’s expectations. However, she fell into a horde walkers while trying to climb a pipe to safety. She fell into the undead, but was able emerge from the chaos of frightening bodies.

Nevertheless, she didn’t escape unscathed and it’s revealed that she was bitten on the neck, sealing her unfortunate fate.

While it’s a given that she’ll succumb to the disease, she is able to go out in arguably the most touching way possible. Ultimately, she’s able to die in her bed with her beloved Eugene by her side.

“I’m glad it was you in the end,”She said this before she peacefully gave in to the disease. Eugene has been assigned to end her life before it turns.

Rosita’s The Walking Dead death was star’s idea

This may come as quite a surprise to fans but Rosita’s emotional end was actually Christian’s idea and not the writers’.

In a recent conversation, she explained her decision to me. Entertainment Weekly:

“One of the things that I really loved about [The Walking Dead] was that it made me emotional. It tugged at your heartstrings. People constantly say, ‘Oh gosh, I don’t know. It’s a show about walkers, or it’s a little sci-fi.’ And people and fans argue that’s not the first premise of the show. It really is about family and heart and survival and what you’ll do for your loved ones.”

She continued: “… And I just really wanted people to have that emotional experience in our finale, especially. I think a show that was about possibly losing your loved ones, you want to lose somebody at the end. I know it sounds so dark, but I feel like the show, we owed it to the fans to break their hearts one last time, if that makes sense.”

Christian basically argues that the circumstances of the goodbye had to happen the way they did.

“I think it became that she died saving her daughter kind of midway through the season,”She explained. “It started to really make sense that that was the only way that she could go was dying saving Coco.”
