Rachel Morin case: police believe they have found the missing woman’s body

Maryland authorities believe the body of the missing 37-year-old—who disappeared on Aug. 5 while on the Ma & Pa Heritage Trail in the town of Bel Air—has been found.

“We all hoped… that Rachel would be safe,” said officials of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office during an August 6th press conference. Media briefing“At about 1:07 PM, a 911 call was made by a concerned citizen who reported that a woman’s corpse had been found on the trail. It was clear that the person had died at that point.

Officials noted that the investigation was changed from missing persons to murder after discovery. The cause of death and the identity of body have not yet been determined.

The authorities said that “while we firmly believe that the body is that of Rachel Morin,” the final judgment, and the last word belongs to the Medical Examiner. “And that has not yet happened.”
