Open US relations with Platinum Jubilee
Royal expert and former adviser of US-UK relations, Lee Cohen, spoke to Express.co.uk about the benefits the Platinum Jubilee has on wider international relations.
Cohen claimed it was “ironic”The Platinum Jubilee, which celebrates America’s relationship with the UK on a holiday, was believed to be able to strengthen the relationship between the US-UK.
Express.co.uk asked Mr Cohen about the benefits of the Platinum Jubilee.
He said, “The Jubilee allows us to celebrate great people and their achievements.”
It is also a reminder to those who wish to forget and those who were not taught that our American heritage, values and cherished freedoms were derived from England and Britain.
“In [the US]We commemorate Black History, LGBT History, and Puerto Rican Pride.
“It’s ironic and perhaps even telling that no celebrations are held for our English and British heritages that gave birth to our truly great, unique nation.
“I will use the Jubilee to commemorate all that the USA, and the Anglosphere owe our mother country.
“The Queen is the living embodiment, not only of that country, but she represents an era through which all of us alive today have lived and thus we are shared celebrants in her momentous anniversary.”
