POLICE have shut down Tower Bridge after pro-Palestine activists let off flares and disrupted traffic in central London on Saturday.
Police Response to Protesters on Tower Bridge
Cops have swarmed the scene in an effort to keep things under control amid the carnage caused by the protest. Early reports claim that pro-Palestine activists were at the heart of the protest as the demand for ceasefire in Gaza continues.
City of London Police Confirm Incident on Tower Bridge
It comes as the war between Israel and Palestine terrorist group Hamas continues in the Gaza Strip. City of London police confirmed the incident around 5.40pm. A statement on X (formerly Twitter) read: “Tower Bridge is currently closed due to protest activity. Officers are in attendance at the scene.”
Police Reopen Tower Bridge After 45 Minutes
At 6.26pm, the force added the bridge had “reopened”. A spokesperson for City of London police confirmed to Central Recorder that the bridge was closed for approximately 45 minutes. They added that all protesters have been cleared of the area and it’s therefore unlikely that the bridge will be re-closed. No injuries or arrests have been reported.
