Peter Dinklage has some skepticism about Disney's new Snow White movie

Peter Dinklage has enjoyed a lot of success lately. He received multiple nominations and acclaims for his performance in Cyrano. Dinklage is well-known for his vocal skills, which led to him calling out Disney in one of his films. The Game of ThronesAlum shares his thoughts on live-action Snow White and Seven Dwarfs.

Bolivar Trask, the actor who played it X-Men – Days of Future Past(Who nearly resurfaced in X-Men Apocalypse() is a shining example how Hollywood can be successful for small-time Hollywood actors. It’s been his work and talent that led to him obtaining A-list status. So, it’s no surprise that the Emmy winner might have some issues with Disney’s upcoming live adaptation of Snow White. Peter Dinklage shared his emotions during a podcast interview Marc Maron: WTF?. He seemed to question the House of Mouse’s idea of representation, as he commented:

Although I took no offense, it was something that surprised me. [when] they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White, but you’re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. It’s not clear to me.

The Station Agent star was looking at the film from a little person’s perspective. He seemed to be warning Disney of possible backlash should they go ahead with the original story. Of course, Peter Dinklage wasn’t done with the multimedia company, as he called it out for the story’s portrayal of little people:

You’re progressive in one way, but you’re still making that fucking backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together. You are doing what the fuck is wrong, man. What have I done to promote the cause? I guess I’m not loud enough.

For decades, Peter Dinklage has been fighting the good fight, but felt his efforts haven’t been enough. He considered the upcoming live action adaptation a potential setback to his community. The seven dwarves won his support, despite his opposition. CyranoStar seemed to be okay with House of Mouse making a new Snow White.

… What if you told the Snow White story with the most progressive, fucked-up, and coolest spin? Let’s do it. It’s all in. But I just don’t know.

If the film will be progressive as other live-action Disney films, such as
BeautyAnd the Beast and AladdinDisney must go all-in. The casting West Side Story’s Rachel Zegler in the title role seemed to point in that direction. Here’s the question: How will the studio address the needs of the small people in the film? Other notable changes have been made to Disney live-action films. Snow WhiteYou might find a creative way to deal with the sensitive topic.
