Unexpectedly, a car caught fire and engulfed a family in Cleveland, Ohio. Two children were among the victims of the vehicle’s initial explosion.

Iesha Newson was having a normal day with her sons. She needed to run some errands, and pick up her prescription medication from a local store. It was a short trip that turned out to be a nightmare for her mother.

Newson, just like other mothers, was kind and compassionate towards her children. She cared for her children as if they were her only concern. They were in grave danger when she drove them home from work.

The Shocking Scene

Elijah and Dean were confronted with terrifying ordeal on September 18, 2022. Mom Newson ran to the shops for another, taking her car keys and leaving her boys behind.

Her mother had words for other parents. She hoped other parents would learn from her painful experience.

The shocking scene was revealed when she returned to her car in the parking lot. Her car caught fire and she panicked, probably thinking about the worst-case scenario.

The Boys were in the Car

Strangers saw the flames inside the car, and they rushed to help. They were able to free Elijah from his car, and the boy’s screams saved his life. Newson Share:

“If it wasn’t for Elijah screaming and pointing to the car for his brother, [the strangers] only would have [gotten] him, so they went back for him.”

Just moments after Dean was taken out of the car, the vehicle exploded. They were grateful for the kindness of strangers, and that their children survived. Unfortunately, not everyone made it through the day unscathed.

Brave Big Brother

Dean, a big brother, was brave and sustained second- and third-degree burns for saving his sibling. To protect his brother, the youngster wrapped his body around him and took on all the pain. Their mother Additional:

“I’m Spiderman, mom, I saved my brother. That was the first thing he said to me when he woke up.”

Dean was a superhero for his actions and deserves all the praise for keeping his sibling safe. Elijah suffered only minor burns and had to be thankful for the help of his brother.

He was proud of himself

Dean made a full recovery at Metro Hospital. His positivity was admirable. He was proud of his actions, and he smiled when he spoke with his mother. Her brave son was a source of pride for her. Noting:

“I would have never thought for him to put his brother in the trunk and stand in front of him so he wouldn’t get burned. That’s very selfless for a six-year-old.”

Assistance for the Family Traumatized

Newson, who is a Propaganda Coffee Chef, was left traumatized and unable to return to her normal job. The fire destroyed her car and computer and she needed help from the public.

The family has a GoFundMe page—by October 7, more than $7,000 had been donated. His road to recovery was not easy and his family appreciated any help. A post to their fundraising page :

“[Newson] helps anyone in need, without hesitation. Now it’s our turn to help her when she needs it the most.”

The Mother’s Advice to Others

Mother had some words of wisdom for parents. She hoped other parents would learn from her painful experience. :

“The most important thing I learned from all of this is not to leave my children in the car, not even for three minutes because in three minutes you never know what can happen.”

Newson purchased the car two months prior to the incident. The keys were not in the ignition at the time the fire started. Investigators are still investigating the cause of this accident.

We send strength to the family as they face this difficult time. God bless Dean for being brave. You did a great job, little one.
