My Policeman: Release date and plot preview

My Policeman was uploaded to Amazon Prime Video on Friday November 4, 2022.

The film is based on Bethan Roberts’ novel of the name. It tells the story about three young men and their forbidden love.

In 1950s Brighton gay policeman Tom Burgess (Harry Styles), marries Marion (Emma Corrin), while secretly engaging with Patrick (David Dawson), which threatens to end their relationship.

Moving forward to the 1990s, the older characters feel regretful and filled with longing. However, they are given one last chance to correct the damage caused by their past mistakes.

My Policeman

For a film set largely in the 1950s, it should come as no surprise that My Policeman’s soundtrack features plenty of era-appropriate songs to help set the tone.

On top of that, several of the film’s cast members, including Harry Styles and The Crown’s Emma Corrin, join in and cover one of the songs in the soundtrack, specifically the track I’m Going To Get Lit Up (When The Lights Go Up In London) which plays at a club they attend and during a lighthearted car journey.

Who was responsible for the score?

My Policeman includes a number of licensed songs. Steven Price is also the composer of an original score.

The Nottingham-born composer began scoring music for films and TV series in 2004 with notable works of his coming in the likes of Attack The Block, Fury, 2016’s Suicide Squad, Baby Driver, Last Night In Soho as well as the David Attenborough programs A Life On Our Planet, The Hunt and Our Planet.

Price also composed the music to 2013’s Gravity which won him the Oscar for Best Original Score as well as the BAFTA for Best Original Music.

To coincide with the release of My Policeman, Steven Price’s string-heavy and melancholic score has been released on music streaming sites such as Spotify, Apple MusicAnd, of coarse, Amazon Music.

You can stream My Policeman now Amazon Prime VideoAfter releasing on November 4, 2022.
