After receiving the honor, Smith received the Mouawad Miss USA Power of Positivity Crown. According to JewelerThe crown is made in 18-karat yellow gold and set with white diamants. It features motifs of leaves, vines, and petals. It also features blue sapphires, blue tanzanite and rubies. According to the company, the star motifs and jewel tones throughout the design are a nod towards the United States flag.
Smith, who is a journalist at WHAS11 News in Louisville, succeeds Miss USA 2020 Asya Branch. Smith will be competing in Miss Universe in Israel in December. Andrea MezaMiss Universe currently holds the title.
