Millions warned over huge WhatsApp change coming to every single group chat – The Sun

The number of people who can join a group chat via WHATSAPP has increased dramatically.

It could get chaotic if you are already in a large group.

WhatsAppGroup sizes were initially limited at 100 people. The limit was then raised to 256 in 2016.

WhatsApp increased this number to 512 users earlier in the year.

WhatsApp is now testing group sizes up to 1,024 people.

The tech sleuths at WABetaInfo found evidence of the trial within the WhatsApp beta app, and revealed the change.

The feature is currently being tested on both iOS and Android in the beta – but not the live general release version of WhatsApp.

It’s not known how many people have access to it at this time.

“If you want to check if the feature is available for your WhatsApp account, just try to create a group or to add new participants to an existing one,” WABetaInfo explained.

“In this section, you can see what’s the limit configured for your account.”

WhatsApp is also working on other features for group chats.

WhatsApp is also working on something called Communities.

Communities are basically large groups that include WhatsApp group chats.

Groups are one of the most popular ways to chat inside the Facebook-owned app.

But having multiple Groups can sometimes be chaotic – and hard to keep track of.

It will be possible to send multiple messages at once when it’s fully implemented.

You could, for example, have a Work Community with many smaller Groups.

Perhaps your area has a Community that splits into groups for schooling or complaining about issues in the neighborhood.

“It is a private place where group admins have more control over some groups on WhatsApp, available in a future update of the app,”WABetaInfo.

“It is like a group chat, and group admins are able to link other groups in the Community.”

WABetaInfo was added: “It will be possible to reach everyone at once by sending messages to all participants of those groups linked to the community.”

Sadly Meta-owned WhatsApp hasn’t confirmed when this feature will roll out to the general public.

You can follow this guide to join WhatsApp beta and test the most recent features.
