Kevin Spacey Pleads Guilty to UK For Sexual Assault

American BeautyHouse of Cards star Kevin Spacey has pled not guilty to five sexual assault charges at a court hearing at London’s famed Old Bailey court this morning and will face trial in June next year.

Before he made the plea at a hearing, Justice Mark Wall asked him for his name, address, and he acted under Kevin Spacey Fowler’s real name.

In June, Spacey was formally charged with four counts of sexual assault and one of “causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent,”The Metropolitan Police. These historical offences were committed against three men between the ages of 30 and 40 in London and Gloucester. They occurred during 2005 to 2013. Spacey has maintained that he is innocent since the first allegations came to light.

The trial date has been set for June 6, and is expected to last approximately two to three more weeks.

Today’s hearing had been due to be heard at Southwark Crown Court, the UK’s fourth largest judicial venue after a Westminster Magistrates Court judge ruling. However, likely due to the enormous domestic and international media interest, Ministry of Justice officials quietly decided to shift it to the number one courtroom in the country’s premier court, famously known as the Old Bailey, which is located in the city of London, a stone’s throw away from St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Spacey had arrived early this morning wearing a baby blue suit, cream shirt and blue spotted tie and was immediately ushered into a meeting room with his legal representatives. He was escorted by security before making his way to Court 1 at the Central Criminal Court. He was once again accompanied by a media circus with journalists, photographers, and other members.

Thirty reporters waited to be seated in the public galleries, while scores more viewed via video from an overspill courtroom. Spacey and his team were surrounded by security officers who kept an eye on the area. Those who approached were told that they’d be removed from the court.

Spacey was released on unconditional bail on June 16 after he had complied with the police and courts. Spacey had previously been under caution and had stated that he would comply with police and the courts. “voluntarily”To prove his innocence, he must appear before a UK court.

Once one of Hollywood’s biggest and most bankable stars, Spacey’s career halted after actor Anthony Rapp went public with allegations about his sexual conduct in 2017. There were many other complaints in the U.S. as well as in the UK. Spacey ran the Old Vic Theatre in Britain between 2003 and 2015.

He is set to go to trial in New York in October to face a sexual assault lawsuit that Rapp brought, after a judge dismissed Spacey’s appeals for it to be dropped.

In the UK, Channel 4 is working on a documentary about the upcoming legal cases and Spacey’s life beyond the courts.
