Kelly Clarkson is ‘broken’ in quarantine, binging ‘Encanto’ with kids

Kelly Clarkson is giving fans a peek into her life quarantining at home.

The “Stronger” songstress, 39, video chatted into her eponymous “The Kelly Clarkson Show” on Wednesday to dish with guest host Taraji P. Henson about her time quarantining at home with her kids.

Clarkson did not reveal why she was isolating, saying she’s “not even sick.”

“It’s so weird,” added the singer, wearing a sleep mask on her head and a silky green robe. “Anyway, we’re keeping it safe.”

But quarantine hasn’t been without its challenges.

“I thought we were done with quarantining, and I’m so tired,” Clarkson said. “I broke a nail. I’m so broken. This is me broken… America, this is what I look like. You’re welcome.”

‘Encanto’:What the Disney film teaches us about self-worth and overcoming intergenerational family trauma

‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’ from ‘Encanto’ is now a No. 1 hit. How’d that happen?

Clarkson went on to say she’s been spending much of her time watching “Encanto” with her kids. The animated Disney film premiered Thanksgiving weekend and has become a staple in the Clarkson household, she said.

“When I watch a movie with my children, it’s like watching three movies,” Clarkson explained, adding that her son Remington, 5, often leaves mid-movie to sing the soundtrack himself.

According to Clarkson, her 7-year-old daughter River will repeat lines from the movie “like she’s memorizing dialogue for a play.

“We’ve seen (‘Encanto’) so much, but it’s so cute,” Clarkson said. “We’ve seen that and ‘Ghostbusters.’ “

But when her kids finally go to bed, Clarkson finally gets some time to watch her own binge-worthy faves, like the mystery series “Castle” which aired from 2009 to 2016.

“You can tell I’m having a rough time if I just go to one of my classic shows,” she confessed. “If you catch me watching ‘Pillow Talk’ (with) Doris Day, it’s a dark moment I’m having.”

After filing for divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock in June 2020, Clarkson was awarded primary custody of the couple’s children, River and Remington, in November of the same year. Clarkson and Blackstock’s divorce has been marked by other legal battles as well, including a labor dispute over Clarkson’s management fees under Blackstock’s firm and a home-ownership battle over their Montana ranch.
