An Icelandic drama, “Katla” was released recently in June 2021. And the science fiction series plot is more complex than the series title. Katla is the story of a community living in a village named Vik in Iceland, where their lives are strongly influenced by the eruption of a subglacial volcano named Katla. The main characters gradually realize that there is more to the land covered in glaciers than they ever imagined. The first season begins with the strange events and mystery that follows. We do not have any official word from the show creators Sigurjón Kjartansson and Baltasar Kormákur or Netflix regarding the renewal status of Katla Season 2. There are some statements that reveal the show will return in June next year, probably around the same time Season 1 was released. Since the show is still brand new, it might take a while until we hear from the production team about the release dates or plotlines of Katla Season 2.
