Chapter 4is expected to be longest-running John WickFilm not yet out, but Chad Stahelski is a strong advocate for the extended runtime.

Mythology is my favorite subject. I love a good story. I don’t really believe — at least for the ‘John Wick’ movies — in a three-act structure. I believe in storytelling and not letting it go. You know, we’ve always seen John Wick as Odysseus. We take the time to tell the story. As long as we don’t fall asleep watching it, we keep it going. There is, however, a limit to how many people can use the bathroom.
Chad Stahelski wants to give as long as it takes to show another adventure with John Wick as an Odysseus modern. It sounds also like John Wick: Chapter 4 will delve deeper into the franchise’s own mythology. While 2014’s John WickIt was initially intended as an action movie. However, it received a positive critical response and performed well at the box office. Lionsgate decided to release a sequel. As such, the world-building seeds planted in the original movie have blossomed into explorations of elements like High Table and more rules of the Continental hotel chain catering for assassins.
While plot details for the 2023 movie are still being closely guarded by the studio, the first John Wick: Chapter 4 trailer dropped last month during San Diego Comic-Con. There was plenty of action shown off in the preview, as well as our first look at new characters played by Bill Skarsgård, Shamier Anderson, Clancy Brown and Hiroyuki Sand, among others. The fourth installment was filmed in Tokyo, New York, Berlin, Paris, and October 27, 2021.
