Jang Hyuk, ‘Squid Game, ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’

After a hiatus, we’re back with a new episode of Deadline Hallyuwood. Jang Hyuk, the star of the movie, will be joining us. The Killer: A Girl Who Deserves Death.

Although Jang spent much of his career as a heartthrob on some memorable series, he’s getting back into his groove as a martial arts expert in his portrayal of Bang Ui-gang, a retired assassin with a duty to protect the daughter of his wife’s friend. Jang gets himself into trouble when Jang’s daughter is involved with the wrong crowd.

At the 2022 New York Asian Film Festival, The KillerThis was the first Korean film to simultaneously be released in North America, Korea and North America. It might prove to be an inspiration for Korean filmmakers looking to go global.

Jang dives into the design of action sequences. This is a process that Jang is very familiar with as a Jeet Kune Do practitioner. He also discusses what he believes is so special about the current moment in Korean content.|
