A few hours after being yelled at and teased by protesters who were joining, I was again joined. “The View”Monday: Texas Senator Ted Cruz dialed in to “The Megyn Kelly Show”You can download it all.
“I can’t tell whether the person protesting you was upset with you or was just a left-wing loon,”Kelly spoke about the incident, prompting Cruz to provide a response.
Correctly, the Republican senator inferred that he had been interrupted by a group climate protesters. However, incorrectly, he stated that “as far as I could tell they were not even directed at me. They were actually protesting ‘The View.’ But obviously my being there gave them a hook to show up.”
Extinction Rebellion NYC — an organization dedicated to “nonviolent direct action” – has since taken responsibility for the disruption online, revealing, “A rebel disrupted The View today, interrupting (dis)honorary, climate-denying guest Ted Cruz.”Cruz was the activist. “climate-dying piece of s—.”He was much more than a flashy hook. “The View,”He was part of the protest itself.
Cruz shrugged the incident aside and recalled how he laughed about it in no-time, even winking at recent climate protesters. A can of soup was emptied on Vincent Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” at London’s National Gallery.
“I joked afterwards, ‘I’m glad they didn’t have a Van Gogh painting hanging in the background, these nuts might’ve thrown soup on it!’”
Why Cruz chose to sit with “The View” ladies in the first place – aside from promoting his new book, “Justice Corrupted: How the Left Weaponized Our Legal System” – the senator explained that he wanted to talk “to the whole country,”It’s not just about the conservative right.
“I think Conservatives spent too much time just preaching to the choir. I think it’s important to have a real a civil conversation and actually get to substance,”Kelly was informed by him.
“You could turn from the choir to the congregation instead of going right into the pits of Hell,”Kelly countered, however Cruz remained firm in his decision.
“I’ve gotta say, for some of the viewers of ‘The View,’ they’ve never heard another side,”He said that he added, “I think it was important for some of their viewers, at least, to hear something other than the straight party line.”
