Ike Barinholtz’s Tournament of Champions Misstep Leaves Jeopardy Fans Wondering: Could He Have Won?

Celebrity Jeopardy! Star Ike Barinholtz Almost Makes ToC Finals

Bold Actor Ike Barinholtz has almost achieved the upsets of all upsets in the 2024 Tournament of Champions. The Mindy Project star was poised to beat Ben Chan and become the ToC’s first finalist, but he botched his wager on the final clue.

Jeopardy! Almost Finalist Ike Barinholtz Misses Bet

On Thursday, Ike faced the formidable nine-day champ Ben Chan and three-day champ Jared Watson in the 2024 ToC semifinals. This comes after the most shocking quarterfinal round in Jeopardy! history, with nearly every frontrunner and fan favorite biting the dust. Jared, for his part, eliminated 21-day champ and this year’s frontrunner Cris Pannullo.

Tournament of Champions Wager Mistake

After the Jeopardy! round, Jared led with $7,400 (acing the first Daily Double), Ben was right behind at 6,800, and Ike trailed with $1,600. In Double Jeopardy! Ben surprisingly added just $4,000 on the next Daily Double, which earned a tsk from host Ken Jennings. Jared had a shot at the lead on the last Daily Double shortly after, but he couldn’t pull off the correct response, dropping all $8600.

Fans React to Ike Barinholtz’s Wager

Fans lamented: ‘Ike would be a finalist if he knew how to wager properly…’ and ‘He should have bet nothing! On social media, viewers expressed their disbelief at Ike’s unsuccessful bet, pointing out that he could have won if he had just bet $0 from second place.

Finals Week at Tournament of Champions

WHO IS: LEFT? The other two finalists will be decided by Friday and Monday’s matches. The finals will begin on Tuesday, March 12, and will conclude in mid-March. The champion earns $250,000, a championship belt, and an invite to the next Jeopardy! Masters in May.

Tournament of Chaos Finals

At long last, Jeopardy! fans are getting the strike-delayed 2024 Tournament of Champions, the game show’s most treasured tradition. But in the quarterfinals, the top seeds fans thought would win it all were shown the door left and right. Golden boy Cris lost in a blowout to three-day champ Jared.

Ike’s Near Victory

Insanely enough, if Ike had not gone all-in he would have won- again! Ken Jennings is hosting the ToC where no one is safe until mid March.
