Feeling uncomfortable, the 22-year-old decided to visit her doctor in order to renew her prescription.

The 22-year-old fitness fanatic is known for her visible abs and was stunned when her doctor explained that her symptoms could actually be due to pregnancy.

She said that the eight-month-old was pregnant when she lay down for the checkup.

She explained that she was shocked and was now arguing with her partner about how impossible it was for her to become pregnant. I turned to my partner, and he was silent.

“I was happy, but not too excited. I knew that the doctor had made a mistake.

“The ride home was quiet. We were trying to make sense of the fact that I would be giving birth in just a few weeks.

“But eventually my partner disrupted the silence by laughing and saying that my barbecue wings and peanut butter cravings now all made sense.”

She explained that the possibility of pregnancy hadn’t crossed her mind as she hadn’t missed her periods and she ‘still had abs’.

“I had absolutely zero signs, I never missed a period, I didn’t gain weight, or have had any morning sickness. Nothing.

“So you could understand my reasoning for arguing with the doctor after that revelation”, she explained.

The 12 early signs of pregnancy you need to know

Doctors calculate pregnancy from the first day of a woman’s last period, rather than from the date the baby was conceived – if the parents’ can remember it.

Although missed periods are the most obvious sign, not all women will experience them.

These are 12 symptoms to watch out for.

  1. Missed period
  2. Fatigue
  3. Headaches
  4. Bloating
  5. Need the loo more (or less)
  6. Dizziness
  7. Mood changes
  8. Hot flashes
  9. Breast tenderness
  10. Feeling hot
  11. Bleeding
  12. Morning sickness

Both Revonni and her partner love to work out and she had chiseled abs until the last few weeks of her pregnancy.

Revonni explained that she had been taking acid indigestion medication for three years.

Revonni added: “Every time I consume carbonated drinks or spicy foods, I experience nausea, severe cramps, extreme bloating and basic loss of appetite.

“It caused me to feel so sick, including nausea, bloating, and severe cramps. I decided to visit the doctor to renew my prescription to my acid indigestion medication.

“I laid down on the bed and began to describe my symptoms to the doctors. As she feels my stomach, she informs me that she is pregnant.

“I laughed and began to explain why it seemed impossible. She insisted that the head was already facing down and explained I could give birth any minute now.”

‘IN DENIAL’

At first the doctor told Revonni that she was 36 weeks pregnant, but a further ultrasound revealed she was in fact 30 weeks pregnant.

“I was in denial. Imagine going to the doctor to treat an acid problem, and being told that you are about to give birth.

“As soon as I found out I was expecting a baby, I swear my bump began to aggressively pop over the remaining few weeks of my pregnancy”, she said.

Revonni and her partner (who she doesn’t wish to identify) have been together for two year and often joke about having five children.

They never thought that it would happen so fast and hadn’t wanted a family until later on in their relationship.

NEW LIFE

Revonni added: “Our only concern was the adjustments that we had to start making, in terms of finance, health, and our professional careers.

“What my family would tell me was never a concern, but I have the most supportive and loving mum. She’s been purchasing baby stuff since the day she found out. I called her that day.

“I’m so excited now. I can’t wait to meet my little person.

“I am past my due date so we are expecting our little acid reflux baby any minute now.

“Obviously it took a minute to settle into the idea of having sleepless nights and losing my very toned abs but I can honestly say that there’s never been any feeling of regret or shame since I found out. I’m nervous yes, but definitely more excited.”
