Principal photography is over “Cuckoo,”Neon has a horror movie in production. “Euphoria” breakout Hunter Schafer. The film also features Jessica Henwick and Dan Stevens.
Tilman Singer is a director and writer. “Cuckoo” is Schafer’s feature film debut. It was shot on 35mm film in Germany. Above is a first view image.
When “Cuckoo”The film was originally announced last August. It was supposed to star John Malkovich along with Gemma Chan, Sofia Boutella, and Marton Csokas. But an individual with knowledge of the project says that due to timing issues, the final cast now includes Schafer, Stevens, Henwick, Marton Csókás, Jan Bluthardt and Greta Fernández.
Plot details are being kept under wraps. Film is currently in post production and is aiming for a release in 2023.
“Cuckoo”Singer reunites with his team “Luz,”Paul Faltz is the cinematographer and Dario Mendez Ancosta is the production designer. Simon Waskow, composer, and Henning Hein, sound designer will both be back.
“Cuckoo”Executive produced by Tom Quinn and Jeff Deutchman for Neon. It is also produced by Thor Bradwell, Thor Bradwell, Maria Tsigka and Ken Kao in cooperation between FICTION PARK (Germany), and Waypoint Entertainment (USA). Film und Medien Stiftung NRW (HessenFilm), and the German Federal Film Fund DFFF provided additional funding.
Schafer was Jules’ first acting role in the HBO series. “Euphoria,”She recently joined the cast “Hunger Games”Prequel “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.”
