HBO Max’s Film Catalog Can Be Trimmed Without Losing Its Competitive Edge

Although HBO Max is still behind Netflix and Hulu when it comes to total series demand in the U.S. HBO Max data from Parrot Analytics shows that it has a clear lead over its competitors in its film library. And while HBO Max recently upset creators and fans by unexpectedly axing some of its programming, including a high-profile “Batgirl”movie, but the data indicates that it still has plenty of room to grow its movie library while staying ahead of the competition.

Parrot Analytics data shows that nearly 20% of the demand for movies on streaming video on-demand (SVOD), platforms in the United States was for HBO Max movies in July. This data takes into account consumer engagement, streaming, downloads, social media and other engagement.
