THE weather is getting better so for those who love running it’s time to get outside.
Some studies have shown that running at around 6mph outdoors burns five per cent more calories than using a treadmill.

HEALTH: with Jane Atkinson
LEGGINGS: These Zone3 women’s RX3 Lightweight compression tights are brilliant.
They are a triathlon brand designed by athletes for athletes.

The leggings have graduated compression, breathable fabric, hip and knee panels for muscle support, reflective details and built-in UPF 50 sun protection.
They give you a lovely hug without over-squeezing you, and they’re flattering too.
Only downside is the tight ankles but I bunged my socks underneath and they became the perfect thing for running in.

BRA: We have all seen runners jiggling about in an inappropriate manner, even though a bra is one of the most important pieces of kit you can buy.
Ex-sports bra tester Mari Thomas has used her years of experience to produce the perfect bra.

And she has come up with a design that looks good while giving amazing support.
It has a special “overband” to reduce upward motion when exercising, and you can also convert between a racer back or H-style bra.
There’s an online fitting service too. Brilliant.

AFTER-CARE: Nuasan is a new range of natural and antibacterial body care products.
It took four years of research to come up with this eco-conscious, scientifically proven product.

The body wash is brilliant and contains magnesium and arnica to relieve sore muscles and joints, antibacterial properties to deal with sweat, while macro-algae (seaweeds) and peppermint are revitalising and moisturising.
I will keep using this. A brilliant product.

An award-winning intensive overnight treatment which claims to work with the skin’s natural nightly repair mode.

Kalahari oil provides essential fatty acids, mongongo oil restructures and regenerates the epidermis, and kigelia firms and tones.
This is the palest out of the three. Not much of a smell but sank in well.
My skin felt nourished after using this.
Out of the three, because of the price, this is the one I would keep buying.
MID: This Is Silk overnight oil (£39.99 for 30ml, thisissilk.com):
Award-winning accessories brand This Is Silk has just launched this oil.

Described as a potent facial oil containing silk peptides, the antioxidant bakuchiol and nourishing rosehip repairs and renews skin while you sleep.
This trinity of powerful ingredients claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines, plump the skin, balance and improve skin texture and tone.
The downside is it didn’t seem to sink in as well as the others – but if you want something that will help you sleep and smells amazing, this is it.
LUXURY: Romilly Wilde active boost face oil (£75 for 30ml, romillywilde.com):
Described as an advanced serum/oil that targets and nourishes, it claims to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to leave a revitalised, glowing complexion.

It is a clever combination of products – including ten different oils.
This didn’t have a lovely aroma like the others and smelt slightly oaty.
But out of three it was the one that soaked in the most.
The bottle annoyed me though. It isn’t translucent so you have no idea how much is left.
But, annoyingly, this pricy product was my favourite.
