Don’t say farewell to Ellen Pompeo. The Grey’s AnatomyThe star and executive producer shared that message on Instagram Thursday to fans, promising that she will eventually return as Meredith after her final episode as a cast member.
Pompeo claimed that she is “eternally grateful and humbled by the love and support”For 19 seasons, fans have shown their support for Meredith Grey and her character Meredith Grey. “You know the show must go on and I’ll definitely be back to visit,”She wrote it on Instagram.
As Deadline revealed in August, Pompeo is scaling back her on-screen presence onGrey’s Anatomythis season to eight episodes. The episode, which was appropriately titled “Farewell to a Core Cast Member” on February 23, is her farewell. “I’ll Follow the Sun”And written byGrey’s Anatomyexecutive producer/showrunner Krista Vernoff, is Episode 7. Pompeo is transitioning to a Hulu limited-series in which she stars and is executive producing. She is expected to return to the show.Grey’s Anatomy‘s Season 19 finale.
She is still an executive producer, and will voiceover narration on all episodes. Meredith announced her departure as Grey Sloan’s executive producer in an email.
