Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – A Brand-New Dr. Rolf
Will Utay, the actor who brought Dr. Wilhelm Rolf back to life since 1990s, was recast a few years later when more Salemites returned to life. Rolf and Kristen DiMera, Kristacy Haiduk, were the ones behind this feat.
He was able to insert the essences of Princess Gina (Kristian alfonso), and Stefano DiMera’s essence (Joseph Mascolo), into Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols). He even managed to get Kristen pregnant at an advanced maternal stage. He was then sent to prison along with several Salem criminals. However, Richard Wharton now plays him.
DOOL Spoilers – Why Is Dr. Rolf Different?
Will Utay has decided to not reprise his role of Dr. Rolf. However, Rolf is crucial. DOOL chose to tell the story.Wharton was recast. Amazingly, the recast is seamless. Wharton has a striking resemblance with Utay. He also has the mad scientist accent.
When Wharton first arrived on the set to start playing Rolf, one particular actor who has been around since the 80s was the one to give him the lowdown on his character — Drake Hogestyn (John Black).
“When I met Drake, he was telling me all these things, interaction that Rolf had with him,”Wharton stated this in the August 16, 2022 issue of Soap Opera Digest. “He’s like the encyclopedia of Days of Our Lives. So, that’s where I am learning a lot of it, from the other actors.”
Wharton revealed that he needed to keep his accent down to get the job. “That was part of the audition requirement,”He stated. “And it’s something I keep working on. Russian is [an accent] I have done a lot, so keeping that separate from the German has been a bit of a challenge.”
So far, Wharton fits right in as Rolf and we can’t wait to see what sorcery he comes up with next. This story will unfold on Days of Our Lives weekdays.
