But sparks were clearly flying in the secret surveillance room too — with a string of behind-the-scenes romps.

A source said: “The children are all in their late teens and early twenties so had a blast on the show.

“It was a really bonding experience, they were a group of young people stuck in a bunker together for weeks and they all agreed they had a brilliant time setting up the grown-ups on some amazing dates.

“Filming has finished but as you might expect, you throw a group of young people together, with a fair few of them single, and let’s just say a few of them have grown close right under Davina’s nose.

Lust for romance

“Even though the show is now over it hasn’t stopped some of them enjoying a bit of their own Love Island-style lust and romance.”

A couple that has been together since the end of filming have fallen in love.

The show, which was dubbed “Middle-aged Love Island” when first announced, sees single parents move into a romantic retreat for six weeks to try and meet a new life partner.

It was filmed at a £8.75million country mansion in West Sussex, with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a steam room, sauna, spa, hot tub and a gym.

They are controlled secretly by their children on the path of true love.

Davina revealed that she pitched the idea to ITV herself.

She said: “Omg. It came to pass! I’ll be hosting a new grown-up dating series for ITV.

“This is a show for single parents who have lived a life, have stories to tell of their dating pasts and deserve another chance at love and I’m gonna help you.”

Davina, why not help them too?

The first images of the ITV2 reality show star in a tracksuit are far from his sunny Mallorca location. He is hunting for bargains on the ice-cold aisles.

As he loads up the cart with ready-made chicken masala, Mars bars and a portion for a whole family, he is expected to talk about his private life.

Shopping With Keith Lemon is the second episode in the Iain Double Bill, which will be shown immediately after Love Island. In this episode, Iain narrates all the action, using his trademark quips.

Keith and Zara will meet in a chilly ice-bath after their Icelandic adventure.

The comic filmed an instalment with Iain’s wife and former Love Island host Laura Whitmore in 2020 where she revealed Iain was drunk the first time that they met.

She said: “I remember thinking he was very attractive, with a Scottish accent and tall. I met him at the Scottish BAFTAs and he was wasted, he was a drunken mess.”

Laura will have to make do with Irn Bru, since that’s all Iain is drinking.

ITV2 continues Shopping with Keith Lemon on Wednesday, 10.05pm.

Lucy was disappointed by her move for a particular reason.

She said: “When I make history documentaries, it’s normally me and a crew of three and we are on a street corner in Edinburgh and it’s late at night and it’s raining and we say, ‘Good luck, studio’ as a morale-boosting joke.

“Since we’ve actually been filming in a studio, I’ve discovered nobody actually says that, which is disappointing. I honestly thought they did and was expecting it to happen!”

On Thursdays, at 8pm, Channel 5 airs a game called Puzzling. Players are challenged in a variety of areas including language and lateral thinking.

No morale-boosting humor is included.

You would think that Sigourney Weaver, the actress from “The Princess Bride”, would enjoy a Hollywood movie to relax.

She told Central Recorderday Times Style mag: “I feel half-English. I love gardening. My favourite show is Escape To The Country.”
