Ye, the multi-hyphenate rapper who was formerly known under Kanye West’s name, sat down with Chris Cuomo Monday evening to discuss his recent antisemitic social media posts that got him removed from Instagram and Twitter.
Earlier Monday, Ye’s social media journey continued with the announcement of his intentions to buy the right-wing Parler platform. Ye, who was sitting with Cuomo that evening and trying to make his name right, doubled down on many of the things he said, declaring that “the Jewish underground media mafia”Before the tweets, people were attacking his character. He specifically mentioned when he wore the now-famous “White Lives Matter”shirt to Paris Fashion Week earlier that month.
“When I wore the White Lives Matter T-shirt, the Jewish underground media mafia already started attacking me,”Ye added, “They just immediately disrespect me. They keep the crazy narrative going. They never call me a billionaire.”
Cuomo interjected to stress that Ye needed to fully understand both the true and negative consequences of his statements as the interview progressed over 20 minutes.
“Look at how your point was gonna start: ‘You have to understand,’”Ye replied. “But the thing is, the Jewish people that I’m talking about don’t have to understand, and that is that privilege that I’m not gonna allow.”
To the claim that “over 50% of the executives in Hollywood, the CEOs, are Jewish”That and more “these guys know each other,” Cuomo interjected: “That’s different than saying it’s a mafia and that they act as Jews in some way as opposed to just being businessmen.”
They continued to interact, with both men talking over each other.
