After first meeting on The Mickey Mouse Club as pre-teens, the pop stars were together from 1999 to 2002.

Britney, now 39, reminisced on a sweet moment during her relationship with Justin, 40, in an Instagram post on Thursday.
The singer shared a series of photos of her iconic dress from the 2001 VMAs, which she called one of her “favorite” looks she’s ever worn.
The mother of two remembered her performance that night with Mick Jagger, as she entered a cage with a “live tiger.”
Britney explained that her nerves took over before the show began, and how Justin stepped in to comfort her.
“Geez … this is me before my VMAs performance with@MickJagger20 years ago !!!!” she began.
“This is one my my favorite dresses I’ve ever worn 👗 and it’s simple black lace !!!!
“I will tell you this … before I went on that night I was feeling kinda out of body with nerves … I mean … I was in a cage with a live tiger 🦁😳 !!!!!” “It’s one of my favorite dresses and it’s simple black lace,” the Toxic singer said.
“I will never forget that moment before I went into the cage !!!!,” he said. Justin saw I could hardly talk so he held my hand and gave me a 5 minute pep talk which obviously worked 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🦁🦁🦁🌹🌹🌹 !!!!!

Britney’s memory sparked a storm of affection from fans, who posted hilarious messages in the comments about one their all-time favourite couples.
“I love it when Britney talks randomly about Justin 😂😍,” One wrote happily.

CHILDHOOD SWEETHEART
Britney and Justin met in the early ’90s while filming The Mickey Mouse Club, and by 1999 both of their careers had catapulted into stardom.
The couple announced their relationship that year, causing a frenzy among fans.
During a 2001 interview with The Observer, Britney told the outlet: “With him, it’s still the same as I felt two years ago. It is a deeper relationship than it was when I was younger.
“Like, we’ve gone through so much together and we’ve known each other since we were 12 years old. We know each other inside and out.”
Their love was legendaryized when they wore matching denim outfits to the 2001 American Music Awards.
They ended their relationship in 2002 after three years of romance.

Britney announced her engagement to her long-time boyfriend Sam Asghari earlier this month with a post on social media as she showed off her huge diamond ring.
