Boy Meets World Vet William Daniels recollects a funny fan encounter that would have been on-brand for Mr. Feeny

The rewatch podcast has been released. Pod Meets World, devoted Boy Meets WorldFans were able to discover many cool facts about the sitcom. Recently BMW alumni Will Friedle, Danielle Fishel, and Rider Strong shed light on why Cory’s little sister, Morgan, switched actresses mid-show. The three podcast hosts were able to meet George Feeny himself, William Daniels, this week. Although Daniels’ career spans back to the 1950s and includes many roles, his most memorable role is the one on TGIF. The beloved star has many admirers, and he recalls a hilarious fan encounter that Feeny would have enjoyed.

The 95-year old actor enjoyed a good conversation with his former castmates. Pod Meets WorldThe conversation centered on his impressive career and the project Ben Savage, series lead, didn’t participate in. Of course, the conversation soon turned to fanbases and which of William Daniels’ is the most spirited – that of the ABC sitcom, the acclaimed medical drama St. St.Or the musical film 1776? Yes, that is what the revered thespian stated. Boy Meets WorldIt takes the number one spot. The Emmy winner demonstrated this by talking about a conversation he had with overzealous young fans while he was out walking with his wife in New York.

I can still remember New York. [I’m] on a street, and a bus came by, I’m walking along. A bunch of children got off the bus and saw me. ‘Mr. Feeny!’They ran away, and I ran around the block.

Imagine Mr. Feeny being chased down by his younger fans in New York. Now, that’s a sight, but the response definitely fits the fictional educator’s personality. The situation also shows how much people love William Daniels who once enthusiastically endorsed Taylor Swift’s albums. Bonnie Bartlett (another actress) has a vivid memory of the incident. She also reflected on it with another wild encounter.

He said to me: ‘Sorry, I’ll see you later.’ They terrified him, they absolutely terrified him. They are especially common in New York. When Bill wrote a book and we went to a signing… they chased us around, jumped on the car, did all sorts of things.
