Blumhouse and Netflix Depart Lexi Alexander “Absolute Dominion”

Netflix and Blumhouse have parted ways with Lexi Alexander’s “Absolute Dominion,”An action-packed sci-fi movie about the martial arts, directed by Patton Oswalt. Also featuring Alex Winter and Julie Ann Emery.

Insiders confirmed that Netflix would no longer distribute the film and Blumhouse would no longer be attached as a producer. Though the decision wasn’t easy, said the insider, they support Alexander finding another distributor.

The film is set in 2085. It centers on a futuristic Martial Arts Tournament in which one winner will have absolute control over all others. The Nevada movie was greenlit by Netflix in April 2018. ShootThe film was completed in August, and is currently in post-production.

Writer-director-producer Alexander did not directly comment on the decision. Alexander retweeted her news tweet with the message “Don’t worry, it’s not bad news. But here are the leads…”Above are images of the four cast members.

The ensemble cast includes Andy Allo and Laith Ash, Olunike Adeliyi, Reagan Gomez Preston, Juliana Joel, and Juliana Joel.

“Absolute Dominion”Alexander’s first feature film in more than a decade marks the debut of the former World Kickboxing Champion. Alexander’s previous films are “Lifted” (2005), “Punisher: War Zone”(2008) with Dominic West & Julie Benz “Green Street Hooligans,”The 2005 crime drama starring Charlie Hunnam & Elijah Wood. “Hooligans”South By Southwest, she won the Audience and Grand Jury awards. Her short film “Johnny Flynton”Nominated for Best Live Action Short Film at 2003 Oscars.
