Kaspersky’s security experts have revealed this list on their website.

The message app is a simple way to stay in touch with family members, friends and colleagues.

“However, when using them, it’s essential to be aware of online privacy and security.

The main concern about the security of messaging apps is that third parties, companies who create the app, and even government agencies can read messages.:

Kaspersky’s next message directed its readers to the list of four security issues.

End-to end encryption was at the top of this list.

Your texts will be at greater risk if a messaging application does not have it.

Kaspersky explained that “End to end encryption scrambles private chat messages and only you and the recipient of those messages possess the “keys.”

Open source code was next on the agenda.

You can use this to hold an app responsible for the data it collects.

Kaspersky responded: “Does the app have open-source software?” “Open source code” means that the application is available for outside auditing and accountability by experts. It can be an effective way to draw attention to weaknesses or vulnerabilities within the code.”

Not all apps offer the third feature.

Kaspersky stressed the importance of messages that self-destruct after a certain period of time.

Apps that use this feature will be protected by an additional layer of security.

Kaspersky also wants to make sure you’re aware of how the app “uses data.”

They explained that while many apps are secure and use encryption from end to end, they may still be able to collect information about the user, known as metadata.

“This includes information like who you talk to, for how long, on what device, your IP address, and phone number.”

Check the permissions of an app before downloading it.

It is also important to check the use of your personal data.
