As temperatures around the world reach record highs, UPS driver collapses from heat

With record temperatures hitting the U.S. and overseas, it may seem like the world is on fire.

A video of a UPS driver suffering heatstroke shows just how awful things can be.

As the driver struggled to make it onto the front porch of a home in Arizona, he collapsed from the 110-degree temperature and had to lie down for a moment to recover. He got up and reached for the doorbell to get back on his feet, but he was too tired to do so.

Brian Enriquez, the homeowner, said he was shaken by what he saw on his Ring doorbell camera.

“It’s just a sickening feeling that you don’t know what’s going to happen to that guy if he goes to the next house or his truck,” Enriquez said.

UPS trucks have no air conditioning, and drivers are taking to social media to share their extreme working conditions.

The driver in the Arizona video, according to the company is “fine,” adding, “Our package delivery vehicles make frequent stops, making air conditioning ineffective.”

Heat is on all across the country.

In Houston, temperatures hit triple digits. New York was hit hard by extreme weather, including severe thunderstorms and flooding. One van was even swallowed by a sinkhole.

A third of Americans are currently under heat warnings.

The United Kingdom and other European countries are experiencing a record heat wave.
